Government Job Search Techniques for Rural Indian Women

India is a traditional country in which women are coming out of their shells, only recently. The IT boom in the country paved way for many young women to study further and earn a job. While the urban women have been exposed to various kinds of job opportunities from the previous generation, the employment market still seems a very scary one for the rural women. Such women who have little exposure to outer world can try their luck in the government jobs. It doesn’t require very high English fluency. Here are a few important guidelines helping rural women to streamline their government job search.

1. Start planning your future right from a very early stage in your life. Survey the public sector job opportunities in and around your area. Plan your study accordingly.

2. Focus your government job search on fields like teaching, medical services and studies related to accounts and commerce. Most of the villages have severe shortage of doctors, teachers and people willing to serve in the rural branch of the banks. You can easily fulfill this gap if you choose to particular subjects.

3. Make it a habit to visit your local government library regularly. The library will have journals like Employment News which will list all the vacancies in the public sector. They will help you a lot in the government job search.

4. Start preparing for the UPSC and other state government oriented exams from the first year of your college. Check how the examinations are conducted throughout your study. Gather the various years question papers. Talk with your seniors appearing for such exams and improvise your preparation.

5. There are lots of quotas allocated for rural women in these jobs. There are quotas for poor women, daughters of farmers, daughters of widowed mothers, first generation graduates and community based grants for women. Make full use of this advantage in your government job search campaign. Check with your teachers and village administrative officers and get all the necessary documents ready before you appear for the exams.

6. Remember the early bird gets the fruit. The sooner you apply for such jobs, the better chance for you to land them earlier. If possible engage yourself in the part-time jobs related to the job you are planning to apply. You can show this as a previous experience when you appear for the final interview.

Landing in a public sector job is no rocket science. Comparing to the efforts taken by the urban youth to enter into institutions like IIT, these efforts are very limited. Try your level best for guaranteed success.

The Effects Of Tobacco On Women And Smoking Health Issues

While we consider female lack of desire and women’s health news on carcinogens in cigarettes position a risk to everyone, our world’s women are over twice as likely as males to get aggressive kinds of lung cancer and more likely to establish it at an earlier age.

– And women, it turns out, have an even harder time stopping than guys.

Smoking cigarettes and smoking health issues is a vice that almost always starts during adolescence.

They probably never will when teens finish from high school without ever smoking routinely.

Smoking problems while kids turn into women’s smoking problems and the latter get the worse health problems.

Youths may exhibit symptoms of addiction within a couple of weeks or days right after they began smoking cigarettes.

While cigarette smoking was unusual in women through the history books, but during the late 1800’s, and in to the 1910’s, the tobacco industry recognized the potential of women as a gold mine for the expansion of the cigarette market.

In truth, tobacco business released the campaign slogan, “Instead of a sweets like ice cream and candy, grab a smoke,” which quickly encouraged women to smoke so as not to gain weight.

This was followed by, “You’ve come a long, terribly long way, young lady,” as a tribute to the burgeoning women for equal rights parade.

These marketing projects not just portrayed female’s cigarette smokers as stunning, enjoyable and independent, but also sent out subliminal messages that cigarette smoking assists women to manage their weight.

Cigarette ads are banned in kids and teenager’s magazines.

In a previous discussion I explored the many things in the way for women and a life of self-confidence and success.

But still in much of the world billions of dollars are spent on other ways to advertises like alongside the highway, billboards, and adult publications which can quickly be accessed by the youth.

Because since the late 1980’s lung cancer has actually exceeded breast cancer as the leading cause of cancer deaths among females in the United States.

Cigarette smoking causes heart illness, which is the number one killer of the western world’s female population.

Women who smoke likewise damage their beauty they once held, and they do recognize this in the mirror.

Smoking speeds up the aging procedure and produces more facial wrinkles, gum illness, oral decay, raspy voice, and bad breath, and female lack of desire and women’s health news on this is everywhere.

I mean mental health is likewise affected due to anxiety and stress anxiety conditions.

Ladies are more likely to be depressed and be a woman with lack of libido, than non-smokers, which young and older women with anxiety disorders are more likely to smoke.

Some females, nevertheless, are finding innovative methods to break the practice for the rest of their lives.

Participating in activities where smoking cigarettes would not fit, such as exercising, biking, mountain-climbing, as well as turning to a non-smoking lifestyle that consists of going to smoke-free places with your kids.

The dangers of smoking for women has increased attention and awareness for young women’s health and from female entrepreneurs and companies, resulting in a number of jobs that focus on supporting tobacco cessation efforts particularly for our lovely women of the world.

The Course in Miracles states, “The body can not know. And while you limit your awareness to its tiny senses, you will not see the grandeur that surrounds you.”

Regardless of age, the threats of smoking contribute to all kinds of women’s health issues and lead to female lack of desire and women’s health news has shown us of the infertility, anxiety and stress, osteoporosis, and loss of sight.

While cigarette smoking was unusual in ladies during the start of their coming out time for equality ages ago, the tobacco market recognized the potential of ladies as a market for the growth of the cigarette industry.

We have grown as Spirit and our awakening to a better life, and that’s why we have discovered things like, “Smoking cigarettes triggers heart disease,” which is the number one killer of women.

Females are more likely today, and as we move forward in generations, to no longer have as much concern over female lack of desire and women’s health news about other women’s issues holding our fine women of the world back.

( Always be sure to search the net for helpful material on being a confident woman today and moving forward in life.)

To “a long way baby” for success and love for life!

Non-Traditional Occupations For Women – Cracking the Glass Ceiling at Corporations

The glass ceiling is a term that has come to mean a barrier to women’s advancement in the workplace. Believe it or not, this term celebrates its 30th birthday this year! The term was originated by diversity consultant Marilyn Loden in a 1978 presentation to the Women’s Action Alliance Conference, to “describe the invisible barriers to advancement that many women managers still face.” Thirty years later women are still bumping their heads on the glass ceiling, whether they are trying to rise through the management ranks, or gain a foothold in blue collar professions.

One may argue that Sarah Palin being nominated as the vice presidential candidate on the Republican ticket with John McCain is evidence that the glass ceiling is cracking. But she is the first woman candidate on a national ticket since Geraldine Ferraro was Walter Mondale’s vice presidential partner in 1984. There has yet to be a woman on the ballot for the job of President of the United States, although Hillary Clinton made a historic run at the position this year. And though women have not yet attained the highest political post in the United States, they have made some inroads into the top positions in the corporate world.

According to Fortune magazine, the number of women CEOs in the FORTUNE 1000 has increased from 19 in 2005 to 24 in 2008. However, that’s still only 2.4% of the top corporate posts being held by women. An extensive study (of 10,000 high ranking executives in nearly 1000 companies) published by researchers from the Tuck School of Business and Loyola University, concluded that the number of women CEOs will not likely significantly increase until at least 2016, based on the number of women currently in the upper-executive pipeline. The researchers found that in 48% of the largest U.S. firms, there were no women in senior positions, and that women comprised only a token presence in many of the other firms. The researchers project that the percentage of CEO spots held by women will increase from the 2000 level of 1.7% to 4.9% in 2010 and 6.2% in 2016.

If those projections hold, the number of women leading major corporations will still be quite low even in another eight years! So you may be thinking, what does having women in top leadership positions mean and why is it important?

In her book “The Female Advantage,” author Sally Helgesen describes the changes in the corporate world as we’ve moved from an industrial age to a technological age, and states that women are particularly well-suited to the type of corporate hierarchy needed for the fast-moving technological age. She describes this more modern type of hierarchy as a “web of inclusion,” as opposed to the older authoritarian top-down chain of command.

Picture a web, with the leader at the center, reaching out to all via this “web of inclusion.” In a web hierarchy, the leader can create a more democratic and empowered organization that communicates more quickly and functions more effectively, in comparison to a top down hierarchy. In the web, strong relationships are emphasized. Helgesen builds the case that women are particularly well-suited to this type of corporate structure, due to their “feminine principles,” which include an emphasis on building relationships, sharing information, treating others with respect, and thinking of the larger group, not just themselves.

As the corporate workplace continues to speed up and go global, and becomes more and more multi-generational, the need for a different style of leadership will become increasingly important. Women are well-suited to fill that role.

Successful Women Entrepreneurs Today In A Competitive World

The successful female operated businesses know the meaning of a true business owner, “One who carries out to conduct a business assuming complete control and danger,” is not gender specific, it is not surprising that most entrepreneurs are men.

Lots of women merely do not have the time to start a company due to the fact that women tend to undertake the greater share of raising kids and keeping the house together!

I had the chance to interview a few who attended the woman’s conference and take a close take a look at the issues that successful women entrepreneurs deal with.

At a current international women entrepreneur’s conference in Glasgow, the Bank of Scotland presented a few of its research studies.

In accordance with the bank, even successful women entrepreneurs tend to: under-capitalize their organizations at startup; have a disinclination to use financial obligation financing and to be more danger averse than their male equivalents,

And they utilize a greater percentage of their individual savings within their service, both at startup and advancement.

They are less aggressive than guys about their understanding and understanding of financial products and services, all which can influence on funding and growing their businesses.

This might be exacerbated by the banks’ historic hesitation to treat their women in business clients in the very same manner as male customers.

Females owned businesses have the tendency to be more service oriented.

Yes, and therefore have less equity than male owned services– another factor banks can be hesitant.

Financing is vital to all commerce and of course the female owned businesses, and possibly managing money is most crucial amongst small businesses, whether at the start or when expanding.

The struggle to keep appropriate cash and financial freedom alive is consistent among business owners.

Is it any surprise then, that monetary concern is the most widespread cause of stress and insomnia!

With female owned businesses producing over thirty nine percent of new start-ups, and just over a third of self-employed proprietorships in Canada owned or led by females, female entrepreneurs have increased by just over more two hundred per cent in the last twenty years.

As an outcome, more black female business entrepreneurs are seeking more opportunities to grow their network and boost their support systems.

The Women Entrepreneurs of North America in Canada was established in Toronto in 1992, as a support, opportunity and resource network for female entrepreneurs.

I found that WEC promotes and fosters the young women entrepreneurs, too, in Canada and assists them to accomplish and define success on their own terms.

It’s important to help promote the interests of successful women entrepreneurs and women in business getting started, and business owners in the larger service neighborhood.

It assists in the transfer of appropriate knowledge that is appropriate to WEC members; and partners with companies both in Canada and abroad, such as the National Association of Women Business Owners in the USA.

And the global groups like Femmes Chefs d’Enterprises Mondiales and the Italian Associazione Imprenditrici e Donne Dirigenti D’Azienda, to bring finest chances, resources and practices to its members here.

This is an organization where women can fulfill their life dreams and blend with other female owned businesses, who deal with similar issues in starting, running, and growing their services.

WEC is a resource that offers a unified voice to federal government and the public, pressing the issues of women in business to a right-minded leading edge.

It is suggested that increased young women entrepreneurs research and study to produce more chances for black female business owners, while bringing exactly what is learnt about women’s organizations updated.

And relating to maternity leave– as female owned businesses are working to do the exact same benefits as for their staff members as they ‘d like to be treated.

There’s the “what might be done” to level the playing field and extend that advantage to all as, for example, it is in Finland?

It’s like the Course in Miracles teaches, “True extension of Self and one’s true free will brings on an awakening worldwide.

There are many organizations that help female owned businesses to interact a confident and refreshingly positive message about the future potential customers for females, and it is gratifying that the message is being heard.

I urge any woman in business, especially young women entrepreneurs to discover more about self-confidence as an entreprneur.

This takes us to wonderful tips for female owned businesses, and encouraging young women entrepreneurs.

Many aspiring female owned businesses, business supervisors and other professionals typically forget that they really have 2 tasks– the very first is to do exactly what they make money for (and do it much better than males).

The other is to proactively handle their profession path and do exactly what is required to guarantee their upward mobility isn’t really based on others– particularly those who notoriously subscribe to the “Old Boys Club” mentality who might or may not be working in her benefit.

The following “secrets”, amassed through my substantial background as both a business entrepreneur and organization experts lending me advice, will help female professionals better handle their success course:

Understand the “circle of successful women entrepreneurs”

A typical piece of suggestions provided to female owned businesses is for them to spend a good deal of time being familiar with, and working side-by-side, with their personnel to make sure each employee has what (s) he needs to be productive.

While that concept is well intentioned, it’s does not offer maximum advantage to all included.

Rather, it is more vital that female managers hang around helping their employer look proficient at every opportunity.

When (s) he understands that you have the ability to assist her/him prosper, you and your group will get more time, attention and resources assisting in optimum productivity.

Many female owned businesses cite male stereotyping and prejudgments of female “appropriate” roles and abilities as a leading barrier to their development.

It’s crucial for women to assess where a male employer stands relative to female specialists.

Previously I discussed women’s insecurity issues can be healed fast and to be a confident woman.

This can be done by analyzing his promotion track record of males vs. females, his balance, or lack, of interactions with female vs. male staffers, and if his interactions with female staffers is strictly expert rather than just inane or flirty little talk exclusively about her household.

How we sound (i.e., one’s unique attributes of the voice such as pitch, volume, and tone) play a crucial role in how females are viewed.

In addition, lots of women tend to mention their opinions, objections or recommendations as a question as opposed to affirmatively and confidently making their point as a declaration.

In a work context, females should command the flooring lest their fantastic ideas fall by the wayside.

Since numerous of us still associate one’s temperament, speaking and appearance capability with their general ability, this stays a powerful challenge for those women who have other or physical stereotype-based characteristics that are tough.

But as humans like the Course in Miracles teaches us, “The ego is aware on how to creep in the back door on us and begin projecting judgment based on fear and self-doubt.”

That said, it might be impossible to change, such as height or weight, blonde hair color, or merely a high pitched voice.

This subjectivity is even worse for young women entrepreneurs as society is generally more able to accept males with what’s considered to be shortfalls more than ladies.

Regardless of these barriers, condition yourself to bring yourself with best posture, speak and gesture in a reliable and confident way, and wear clothes that imparts your female owned businesses success.

To actually stand out from the others and get the crucial promotion, young women entrepreneurs from off site, or in house women execs, ought to guarantee they are in the workplace whenever her employer is in the office.

If (s) he has actually decided that it’s essential to be there after hours, on weekends, or early in the morning, it is entirely to your advantage to be there at the very same time.

Even in this day in age of so-called gender equality, females need to take benefit of all chances to differentiate themselves in the work environment.

It is essential that those who are in the position to benefit a woman’s career in any method know who she is and exactly what she has accomplished.

Effective service people understand the importance of letting others understand about their successes, and go about it in the suitable method.

Ladies need to not wait to get discovered while they toil away at the job at hand, but rather develop the ability of how to tactically talk about her achievements in the work environment.

Far too numerous employees throughout our world are bored and disinterested, which is adversely affecting their performance and creativity.

It’s time for the globe’s corporate leaders to re-engage and invest more time acting as leaders rather than bureaucrats.

The female owned businesses need to exploit this innate capability whenever possible, since such right-minded management ensures that everybody is focused on, and vested in, getting to the goal lines.

(I always suggest searching the web for related information that is a discussion on being a self-assured woman today filled with female confidence. A good conversation might be, should you have a life coach, yes or no?)

To your success in life!

Women Owned Businesses

They want to own their own business and move from their jobs and be self-employed. The main reasons for this is control and flexibility, opportunity, and independence.

The tea industry lends itself to women-owned businesses. There are many opportunities in the tea industry where a woman can own a business and still have control and flexibility. Women want to gain control of their time, their futures, and their finances.

Since women are generally the caregivers they need flexibility over their varied responsibilities. Owning their own business gives then this flexibility over their hours and schedules even though it often requires longer work hours.

Opportunities in the tea industry include tea party catering, in-home parties, retailing tea and tea accouterments from your home, web sites, and tea lectures and education. Women can create their business from home via fax and computers and ship products directly to their customers.

Owning your own business gives a woman independence. With all the down-sizing going on in corporate America, the tea industry lends itself to women who want to turn to self-employment. A woman can run a business as she sees fit and can control the course the business will run. There is no “glass ceiling” and talented women can become entrepreneurs.

One of the biggest challenges for women to own her own tea business is financing. The National Women’s Business Council found that the most significant barrier to the success of woman-owned firms is the lack of capital. Having a service oriented tea business (tea party catering, etc.) does not require a huge amount of capital.

Women usually have little to offer as collateral to a bank for a loan. Many have limited credit history because they have never had credit in their name only. Many have little financial skills.

Each of these can be overcome. A woman needs to establish a record in dealing with money. Experience can be gained by handling the family’s household budget. Keeping books for PTA or other school related organization, or for a church, or any other organization will give a woman experience in handling money.

Another step is to establish a credit history. Take out a small loan and pay it back with regular payments. Get a credit card in your own name, either from a bank or a retail store. Use it and pay it on a regular basis. Also, make sure to understand your credit rights. If denied credit, a woman has the right to a written reason why she was denied credit.

Find the right bank. There are many woman-friendly banks that will lend money to women to start a business. If the first one turns you down, don’t get discouraged, go to another one.

Before going to a bank you need to understand a few requirements. Your need to provide necessary collateral. In other words what assets do you have that you are willing to put up as security for your loan? This could include a second mortgage on your home or stocks and bonds or life insurance policy.

You may have to find someone to co-sign your loan. This may not be to your liking but look at it as a meaningful to get you business started. Ask the bank for a loan application package so you know what you need to provide to receive your loan and fully complete all the necessary requirements.

To be successful you need motivation, sound business practices, organization, flexibility, problem solving ability, communication skills, ability to work toward goals, and, above all, a sense of humor. You also need to stay balanced. Don’t over commit yourself. Know what time you have to devote to your business, your family, and any other area of your life. Remember, you don’t have to do everything perfectly–the super mom syndrome.

Have a support network. There are many organizations in communities that you can belong to that will give you the moral and professional support you will need along the way. They will have good suggestions too. This is called networking and should not be neglected. Support from peers further along the line are invaluable.

Starting your own tea business is hard work, but well worth the effort.

Image Consultant Advice for Middle-Aged Women

THE BEST ADVICE

This article explains what middle-aged women need to know about modern style. The advice pertains to hair, wardrobe, and shoes.

MIDDLE-AGED WOMEN

Middle-aged women, from 35-65, can learn a good deal about style from a trained image consultant. This is especially important for this age group because by this point in their lives they’ve got ingrained habits of dressing and are usually more or less resistant to change. What a pity! Because an image consultant, in the space of three hours, can change your look and bring you new glamour, pizzazz, and style.

Now, wouldn’t you know it, the three areas that a consultant can help you with most are the three areas you’ve got your strongest opinions on already. No worry. Just sit back, relax, and let us introduce you to a few secrets that can make things 100 percent better. The fact is that, if you’re like most gals in this age bracket, your hair needs help, your wardrobe is dull, and your shoes… oh, do we have work to do!

HAIR SECRETS

Your biggest asset is your hair. Believe it or not, people see it first and remember it for the longest time. If you want nice hair, study married woman around twenty-six years old. They usually have the nicest hair because they work at it. They really care about it, and they keep it up. If you want beautiful hair – and who doesn’t! – you’ve got to put some effort into it. We image consultants harp on this all the time because it’s so true.

One secret is to use a conditioner with dimethicone. Another is to get your hair cut every six weeks to fix frayed ends. Still another secret is to get a new hairstyle every once in a while. Finally, carry a small mirror to check your appearance to ensure that you don’t have flyaway hair before you meet friends and family.

Our last hair secret will stun you, but that’s what we’re here for, isn’t it? You need to try some retro styles, such as a beehive or bouffant look. Men will go crazy for you if you have the nerve to do something so different.

WARDROBE SECRETS

The biggest mistake women make as they age is that they tend to wear more prints. Women become more artistic as they age, and they think that they need to have art on their clothes, in the form of prints. Please resist the temptation. Solids are sexy, prints are not. And if you don’t think a woman your age can be sexy, take a look at Suzanne Somers.

“Oh, but friends and family compliment me when I wear prints,” you say? I hate to shatter your illusions, but those closet to you probably want to avoid hurting your feelings because they love you. You might be better off talking with an objective image consultant who has no ulterior motives. Unlike friends and family, a consultant will tell you the honest truth.

So, now, are solids starting to look a little better?… We sure hope so!

SHOE SECRETS

If you’re like most middle-aged women, your footwear is a problem because you’re either wearing heels that are too high or slip-ons that are too fusty. This season, a very cute shoe is the ankle boot. In casual situations, if you want to attract men, this is the shoe to die for. Another good choice is unisex sneakers with white laces. Even better than that, wear open-toe and open-heel shoes to cocktail parties and nights out on the town. You’ll turn heads.

Please keep in mind that if you’re an attorney, a banker, or a white collar worker, the shoe advice will be totally different for your work environment. For business, never wear ankle boots. (But you knew that, didn’t you?) On the job, opt for dark shoes, not shoes that match your lighter outfits.

We want you to look your best and make a good impression, and following these simple guidelines will help you do just that.
