A Review of the IDA Marketing Services Multi Level Marketing Company

IDA Marketing Services registered their website domain in July 2004. The organization name behind it is IDA Business Services, Inc. and the registrant details originate out of Richland, Washington. This is an MLM Company that sells Car Insurance and they are the sole distributor of the Collision Deductible Reserve Plan (CDRP). This program was made to help their customers lower their cost of auto insurance and earn money at the same time without having to use another Insurance Agent or change Insurance Companies.

The CRDP through IDA Marketing Services is promoted via MLM Distributors all over the United States, so I think this program is only for U.S. Marketing Reps. This company wants to plant the seeds to create the largest networking distribution channel to sell their products. Their goal is to assist americans to break free from debt by providing these types of unique business opportunities like selling Car Insurance.

The leadership of IDA Marketing Services include Torry Webb, Justin Brunson, Gerald McElroy, Robert Schmitt and Rich Hawkins. Included in this leadership team are Fortune 500 Executives and Real-Time Network Marketing leaders currently in the field. When I was searching for the news information for this website, the latest news I saw dated back to September 24th 2008 where they said IDA was in Pre-Launch in Portland, Oregon. I haven’t seen any more recent news posting on their website other than this.

The CRDP offered through IDA Marketing Services is a product that will allow them to raise their auto collision insurance deductable to One Grand. This program is supposed to allow you to save 10-40% on our Insurance without having to find a new Insurance Carrier. This will leverage themselves so their overall Insurance Premium will lower as well. Over time, the consumer of this product could end up saving thousands over their driving career so that’s the gist of this product and what they are offering.

Once you raise your collision deductibles you can use this money you save to fund your IDA Marketing Services CDRP Account.

If a collision deductible is due before your CDRP account matures, the company will fund you the entire payment in advance even if you have just made one lump sum payment. You can pay these advances back to the company at $25.00 per month and they don’t charge any interest or penalties for this service. Once you build up your CDRP account and it becomes mature, you can use this extra money you save each month to help with your debt and to start building more wealth.

Just on a quick glance there were at least 4 pages that came up not found. This gives me the initial impression that the company had intentions of launching but never followed through. However I took a look at the Better Networker which is a Portal Site for Network Marketers, and there was one rep promoting it as recent of July 2009. So maybe they ran into issues and looks like they’ll be launching after all. This company supposedly has been 9 years in the making.

When I did a bit more research I discovered that the Vice Pres for a major Insurance Company in Washington joined the IDA team. Also I read on a rep website that people involved in the conception and execution of this MLM Opportunity held some very high positions in some household name Insurance Companies already. If this is the case, we’ll be hearing a lot more about this company later on.

Market America Unfranchise Business – Compensation Plan Review

This article will give a quick overview of Market America, but will concentrate on some of the specifics of the compensation plan. Market America calls its business opportunity the “Unfranchise”. Why? Because Market America offers the solid benefits of a franchise like training and systemized methods but doesn’t have the traditional headaches like huge overhead and start-up cost, insurance, employees and many other aspects involved with franchising. Market America is a product brokerage company that prides itself on one-to-one marketing and mass customization. The company headquarters is located Greensboro, North Carolina and was started by James Ridinger formerly a rep for Amway.

The Products

As mentioned before Market America is a product brokerage company which means they don’t actually produce any products but instead survey customers, find out what they want and then find a manufacture to produce the desired product. This allows Market America to carry only products that are selling well for their reps and can drop poorly performing products, keeping the company much less vulnerable to market swings. The manufacturer then researches and produces the product while Market America concentrates on bringing the product to the consumer through its network of independent distributors also known as an “Unfranchise Owners”. There are currently hundreds of products in the “mall without walls” from unique nutrition products, skin care and make-up, weight-loss products, an anti-aging hormonal line and many more. On top of their exclusive product lines they also have thousands of affiliate partners that allow the “Unfranchise Owners” preferred customers to shop and buy online through a web portal. Familiar names like Wal-mart, Target, Best Buy and many more are stores that allow the reps to get paid when their customers shop online.

The Business Structure and Payout

Market America has what they call a binomial compensation plan. Here are some of the specifics of the pay plan. Each rep or “Unfranchise Owner” retails product to preferred customers and recruits other reps to do the same. The benefit of this is of course leveraged time and financial gain. An Unfranchise Owner begins by purchasing 200BV of product to “qualify” their business center and remains on a 50BV-150BV “transfer buy” per month. This is product the rep can purchase for personal use or to sell to customers. BV is a point value assigned to each product that is used to determine when commission checks will be earned.(Average BV is 80% per dollar of the product, so $100 would be 80 BV). After that the rep must recruit two people and place on on the left side and one on the right side. This “activates” the business center and the “Unfranchise Owner” can begin receiving commission checks. As your business organization grows and more reps are selling to preferred customers and recruiting new “Unfranchise Owners”, the amount of BV accumulated on each side results in commissions being paid out.

Here is a little more detail about how the compensation works. To “qualify” your unfranchise business center you must, as stated above, purchase 200-300 BV in product to use personally and to sell to customers. This initial purchase is going to cost an average of $400-$1000. There is included financial leverage benefits for “qualifying” with 300BV or more instead of only 200BV because the unfranchise owner can start with 3 business centers instead of only one. Once “qualified” you must remain on a monthly “transfer buy” purchase of 50-150BV, depending on how far along you are in the compensation, plan which equates to $100-$300. Again, this is product for your personal use and for selling to your customers so you should be selling a lot of the product to make a profit every month.

Now that you are “qualified” your next goal is to get “activated”. This is done by “qualifying” a rep on your left side and one on your right. To do this your sponsor will teach you how to introduce the product and business to people you know that may be interested in starting a business of their own. When you “activate” your business center with your two reps you are able to collect commission checks based upon the amount of BV produced in both legs.

This is an example of how the residual compensation plan works and how you are going to be paid. Once “active”, each leg begins accumulating BV. Once the BV in each leg reaches 1200 a $300 check is released to you. This goes on to accumulating 2400BV in each leg and another $300 check being released. Then, 3600BV in each leg for another $300 check. The last stage is 5000BV in each leg for a $600 check. So, the total pay out for accumulating a 5000BV cycle in each leg is $1500. The cycle then resets to zero on each side and is done again. This process of course starts out slow as you begin the business, but begins to speed up as new reps come into your organization and they begin selling to their customers. This process continues to speed up until you go through the entire 5000BV cycle in one week meaning you earn $1500/week or $78,000/yr. There are also weekly bonuses for helping people in your organization succeed which can bring your yearly income to $109,000. You can open as many centers as you want meaning once you max out one centers earning potential another can be opened and begin earning commissions.

In Conclusion…

The Market America “Unfranchise” is not a scam. It is a legitimate business opportunity that provides a large selection of market driven products for the rep to choose from for selling. But, like any other business, networking or not, it takes serious commitment, continuous action and learning new things that you may not be familiar with when it comes to starting a new business. It also takes time to build the system and is not a get rich quick scheme, but can provide significant income over a 2-3 year period if you focus on following their systemized business plan. GDI – Global Domains International Inc Review

If you have been on the internet for any length of time looking at business options you will eventually come across someone promoting GDI to you. So this article is to answer some of the basic questions about GDI. Is this Business opportunity a scam? Do they have a product or service that is worthwhile? What is the potential of this opportunity? I will seek to answer these questions as objectively as possible.

Scam!?

If you have come to this article you are probably already considering whether GDI is a serious business opportunity or a scam! To determine if GDI is a scam the first question one must ask is are they marketing a worthwhile product or service or are they just another MLM or pyramid designed to take your money without giving you anything other than promises of great rewards and riches? The answer yes they have a genuine product/ service. In this case web hosting.

The Service Outlined

They provide a web hosting service. It is true you can get free website hosting on the net, in fact this very article is an example of a free web host and you can get good results from them, but there are a number of things you sacrifice.

Firstly if you are using a free web host provider there is always some form of cost, normally they require you to carry free ads on your site. (web1000 is an exception but you can’t even put banners on it and its editor is painful to use).

While having ads on your website at first this may not seem to be a problem, consider this, if you want this site to be your main business portal and hub, you may end up advertising your biggest competitor, not a smart move. You don’t have ownership of your site. You may own the intellectual material but if the free web hoster changes their rules, goes out of business or just updates the way their system works there is not a thing you can do about it. Even with blogger you have to share your AdSense revenue with them 50-50. That’s why I recommend if you are serious about having an online business your main site be one that you own and that means paying for it. Also after I lost 48 blogs overnight because blogger felt they didn’t all fit with their terms of service you learn – you get what you pay for.

In the case of GDI this means $10 a month. That’s US Dollars, so if you are in Australia like me, thats not so good, if you operate in Euro’s or pounds, that’s great for you. For that you get a web site, 10 pages (plus a feedback and guest page 12 total), 10 e-mail addresses and a domain name, its also includes a domain/site builder, domain and e-mail forwarding, use your own web builder, parking service. However each page can have a huge amount of data. The 10 e-mail address means if you have 10 different businesses, affiliates programs or whatever you can devote an individual e-mail to each one and can with the forward even arrange to have them forwarded to a single box.

The other great advantage is the ability to choose a domain name. Most of the good .com names are long since gone. Further in the case of many of the other endings like .au, .us, .uk, etc many companies exist solely in buying up the best domain names to make a killing selling them to someone else at highly inflated prices. GDI with the .ws avoids this pitfall by ensuring the domain name is not sold as a separate entity, but only with the web hosting service. This stops domain name hording in its tracks. .ws is still new and now is the time to get the domain name you want. No additional $20 yearly fee for just the domain name registration.

The Business Opportunity

The fact is not everyone out there needs a web host. Let’s examine why one has a website. Normally one either has a website for one of two reasons – BUSINESS or PERSONAL.

In the case of personal websites many people want their own personal e-mail addresses and have a website for a number of reasons, stay in touch with family with an open letter, express their beliefs or opinions on a world stage, to satisfied their own ego and sense of importance, create photo albums, join a community, etc. Some people will pay the $10 a month to have a website. As time progresses I think this will increase as more and more people become web aware and want to have their own address/ place on the web. With the highly transitive nature of the human population with greater movement than ever before in the history of the world one of the best ways people will be able to stay in contact with friends will be via the net. Consider how many people from school do you know twenty years later. Have you moved city, state, country, if you have you probably have lost contact with them. If you wanted to track them down how would you? I know I would do it via the web. This will be increasingly easy as people have personal web pages.

In the case of a website for Businesses most companies have a website for further advertising their company, some do have direct sales as well over the net, and some are nothing but internet based businesses, e.g. Ebay. In the case of a website for a business, I would think that what GDI offers is not big enough to meet their needs. Save for a landing page, redirect page or just the Domain name, GDI is aimed at the small internet business user. Thats not necessarily a bad thing but it is fact that has a bearing on the business opportunity. If GDI wants to grow further they will need to look at offering reasonable upgrade packages for the bigger players.

In the case of a small first time business wanting their own website with six pages GDI is not a bad option as it also gives them a source of secondary income.

It has the potential to be a good source of income as each person you bring in gets you $1 a month. Not a huge amount really, you would need 10 people just to pay for you hosting fee, but the winner here its that you get a $1 for each person they introduce down to five levels, the power to leverage the work of those below you is what appeals here. That can result in some good returns. You won’t become a millionaire over night, but you can have a great income stream.

You might be thinking, I’m too late and missed the GDI wave. No I don’t think so, not at this time this article is written. GDI members now are in the tens of thousands, not until its reaches 100’s of millions will the wave subside. I don’t think new customers will ever complete dry up either, because each year more and more tech savvy students finish school, and they brought up to believe they each need their own modern gadgets, including mobile phones, e-mailing, and even their own personal website. For kids who are spending $50 plus a month on mobile phones alone, $10 a month for their own website is nothing. I’m waiting for the day you no longer send in a resume into a prospective employer but just give them your web address and they can look up your life themselves. Thus I think the potential of GDI is long term, yes after the initial wave there will be an eventual slowing – there is no such thing as an infinite possibility – there are 6 Billion people on the planet, once the majority of them is a customer you have reach the finite limit. Any company unless they have plans to further develop a service or introduce new products knows a market does reach a saturation point where growth slows. Not so good for an MLM company as their customers are also their business partners. Any MLM that wants to succeed must either sell a product the needs replacement over time – i.e. tupperware (where did I leave that lid, oh well time to another party and order another), or offer new services or products to the same downlines.

There are numerous ways to advertise GDI online. I myself am no great salesman. I hate cold calling, I hate door knocking, I hate feeling like I am invading someone personal space or coming across as pushy. That’s why I love internet advertising. The buyer is in total control, no pushy salesman, don’t like the sales pitch go to another site. There are several program set up to advertise GDI for you, programs like turbo GDI and Hits2U, both are cost effective.

In summary, if you need a web host, GDI is a option, particularly in relation to Domain names, if you don’t need a web host and don’t know someone else who does then its probably not for you.

Textbook Book Review – An Introduction to Business

Are you considering a career in business? Perhaps now is the time to get yourself ready, as the economy starts to recover and jobs start to come back to America. Are you considering getting an MBA, or a degree in business? Do you see yourself in the future as being a business manager of a business unit, or retail store? If so, perhaps you should learn more about how businesses operate, make their money, and manage their employees.

Of course it’s not all that simple, s there is a lot more to it than that. Nevertheless, it makes sense to get an early start, and perhaps consider some business courses as well. If you don’t have time to go to school right now there’s a very good book that I would like to recommend to you. It is a textbook, and it is available online. It is a book that I do own in my personal library for reference, even though I am a retired franchisor, and perhaps I could’ve written the book myself.

The reason I keep this book is because I believe it’s interesting to get the academic perspective on the topic, and to learn what our business schools, and community colleges are teaching future students who will attain business degrees, and then move into the workforce. The name of the book is;

“Intro to Business” Fourth Edition) by Steven A. Eggland, Les R. Dlabay, James L. Burrow, Robert A. Ristau, South Western Educational Textbook Publishers, Cincinnati, OH, (2000), 677 pages, ISBN: 0538-69146-8.

This book is broken into chapters or sections, which are referred to as units. Each unit and subsequent chapters goes into a different aspect of business, things that you need to know. For instance unit one talks about the economic environment, which is extremely important right now, as we exit the downturn in the business cycle to an inflationary period. Learn about business cycles, creating statistical modeling, and making proper economic decisions. Then there is a section or unit on business operations, and one on business and government regulations.

There are also units on international business, as well as small business management. Also you can learn about business credit and financing, as well as strategic investment strategies and risk management and return on investment. This is a very well-rounded book, easy-to-read, nicely formatted, and pre-highlighted to make your learning much easier. If you are looking for a starter book on the introduction to business – this is definitely a book that I would like to recommend to you, and like I said you can find it online.

Book Review of Creative Visualization

I have on my bookcase an old book with yellowed pages, which I have always struggled to get beyond the first few chapters. I was put off my the words “Inner Guides” and some of the early illustrations, however on this occasion I persisted and completed the book finding it both interesting and informative. They say don’t judge a book by the cover! Or perhaps the fist few pages.

I have just Googled the title to find a new edition is available if you are interested in creative visualization and how it can help you. I will give you a brief idea of areas the book covers.

There is a selection on using visualization in business and how it can enhance decision-making. How to become more efficient by concentrating on the job in hand and not worrying about other things. Also how visualization can help you improve various skills. One of the skills considered is selling, another improving relationships both in the workplace and outside. The book demonstrates how these improvements can be transferred into other situations.

Something we can probably benefit from is improving our memory.

There is a section on improving short and long-term memory plus recall, with a brief description on how to use these methods. Other books are recommended to fully illustrate the techniques. There are illustrations of mind-maps which are also discussed, with reasons why they aid memory and recall.

You will also find a section on visualization for improving health and how creative visualization can be used in almost any area of your life. For example improving your sports techniques. Improving confidence, or overcoming shyness; breaking down barriers that are delaying your progress when attempting to achieve goals and many other ways of benefiting from its power.

I use visualisation all the time it has helped me get a place in college, by passing exams fast; it has helped me to find property and find a way to buy and renovate it,also at work, to improve my selling techniques. Another instance was enabling me to set up an online business which was one of my goals I had toyed at for years. If you are looking to change any area of your life and you don’t yet use visualization the book could teach you how to use this technique and could help you.

So to summarise, the power of creative visualization can be used to improve many areas of your life. It can be used in business, or sport to enhance your performance; in achieving goals, improving energy levels, coping with pain, improving health, and overcoming shyness. In fact the methods described can help you in virtually any area. You will also find a list of further reading. So whatever your goals I would recommend reading this book.

If you were to join the AshMax MLM business opportunity, you will need to sign up with both GDI and Freeway To Success. GDI has a monthly subscription fee of $10, and Freeway To Success has a one time $15 to join, and comes with a recurring $5 monthly fee. Adding this all up, you are looking at $15 per month to maintain your AshMax business.

The Ashmax marketing system is based on a 5×5 forced matrix. This means that you need to bring in 5 other motivated individuals to fill your matrix. You will have 20 days to achieve this, starting from the very second that you sign up.

When you successfully sign up 5 new members, AshMax will provide you with 3900 other downline members from the spillover of members that are above you. In my opinion, AshMax is a legitimate opportunity. They are not a scam. However, many who join AshMax will fail due to their lack of experience in internet marketing. For those lacking this experience, it will prove difficult for them to sign up 5 new members in a short 20 day time frame. You may not always be able to negotiate your skeptical family and friends into the program.

For those seasoned internet marketers who already have a sizable list of leads to market to, this opportunity could be a very lucrative one.

Experteer Review – Experteer Premium Subscription Service Reviewed

During September and October 2008, I was an active user of the Experteer.com premium subscription and this is my honest feedback and review on their services.

DISCLAIMER: I’m not affiliated in any way to any recruiting company, job portal, HR firm or Headhunter. The thoughts shared here are just from my personal experience. Any recommendation is based just on my opinion and nothing else.

The web / Usability… OK

In general I would have to say that I’m satisfied with the usability of the site. Filling the forms and entering the data of your profile is easy and intuitive. The advanced search criterion and additional filtering capabilities are indeed very cool. The web lets you refine search results by salary, km away from your base city, Country and a scoring system. It does not have as many features and possibilities like Monster, but I would say It’s OK.

Exposure to headhunters… Really?

One of the things they advertise is that Experteer is the place where all headhunters in Europe come to look for candidates… Well, this might be true or not, but the only thing I can tell you is what happened to my profile: It was viewed 1 (yes, one) time by a headhunter during the 2 months of I was subscribed to their service. Just to clarify, I had 100% of my profile completed (so there was no excuse to exclude me or down-rank me because my profile was incomplete). If there is something they need to work on, I would say is this point: they need to get more recruiters/headhunters to use their service.

Access to “hidden” offers…NO

One important thing is that they do not have access (at least in my experience) to exclusive or offline job opportunities; in other words, everything you will be able to find on Experteer is already online. This is an important clarification because many specialized headhunters, and more specifically in the 60.000EUR+ job market, do have positions that are either exclusive for them or are not being advertised.

Access to real 60.000EUR+ job offers?… YES

This is indeed one of the few but important positive things I got out of their service: They do have a broad, updated and real base of job offers offering salaries 60.000EUR+; not like other online recruiters. Of course you will find eventually some broken links or offers that appear in search results, but have expired, but I would say this happened in a small percentage of time. A rough estimation would be that 90%-95% of the offers that appear on their search results are real, haven’t expired and are indeed 60.000EUR+ positions

As a conclusion, I would say that if you have a lot of time to research (maybe if you’re unemployed), it may not make sense to pay for the premium subscription given that most of what you’ll find you could find it yourself.
